Art Students Win Scholarships to Digital Media Arts College in Boca Raton, Fl

Digital Media Arts College in Boca Raton, held its 9th Annual Drawing Scholarship Competition this past Saturday. Twenty-eight high school students from Palm Beach and Broward counties participated in the full day event for a chance to win a full tuition (valued at $70,000) to the art school. The student-artists competed still life and themed drawing categories. The artwork was judged on four criteria: value, form, composition and proportion by three DMAC faculty members; comic-book illustration icon Mark Sparacio, Chair of Design Mike Arsenault and Fine Arts instructor Dr. Jerome Glickman. Dean of Academic Affairs Dr. Diana Lawrence and DMAC President Sunny Sharma awarded five winners with scholarships:
·        1st Place $70,000: Bradley Cash - South Tech High School
·        2nd Place $20,000 : Kendy Calixte - Dillard High School
·        3rd Place $15,000 : Alejandro Marquez - John I Leonard High School
·        4th Place $10,000 : Grace Sauer - Spanish River High School
·        5th Place $10,000: Wantusely Pierre-Louis - Lake Worth Community High School

In addition to the five scholarships, President Sharma awarded the other participants $7,500 scholarships towards DMAC art school tuition.

Mark Sparacio - DMAC Fine Arts Teacher Named Miami Top 15 Art Professors

The Art Career Project has named Digital Media Arts College faculty member Mark Sparacio one of 15 noteworthy art professors in Miami. Mark, a celebrity comic book illustrator who has been commissioned  to do covers for Marvel Comics and DC Comics, to name a few, is a full time faculty member at DMAC in Boca Raton, FL.   www.dmac.edu

Photoshop and Photography Summer Workshop at Digital Media Arts College

This summer, Digital Media Arts College in Boca Raton, Florida is offering a four day workshop in Adobe Photoshop and photography. Learn from faculty member, John Conway - a leading digital artists.
This art class will allow students to learn various techniques using Photoshop to manipulate digital photos. The students will utilize the lights and backdrops in the photo studio and learn about lighting and other studio techniques. Final images will be critiqued at the conclusion of the workshop.

Congratulations to Digital Media Arts College students and faculty for sweeping up the 2015 American Advertising Federation Awards in Ft. Lauderdale last night.
