My name is Moses Saintfleur and I attend Digital Media ArtsCollege (A.K.A “DMAC”) in Boca Raton, FL. I am in my third year of college,
graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Animation next year. AlI I can
say is that college has been a massive learning experience for me. I started
college in 2012 and transferred from Broward College to DMAC in 2013. I’ve been
playing video games for as long as I can remember being able to speak. But as I
grew older I knew that playing games wouldn’t get me anywhere in life. I didn’t
even know what I wanted to be. I don’t think I realized what I wanted to do
with my life until I took my first class at DMAC. I still love playing video
games, but what I love even more is being able to create them.
Telling vivid stories in an interactive way for people to
enjoy is what I can imagine myself doing for the rest of my life. Right now I’m
really trying to become an Environment Artist and Cinematics Animator. I
actually plan on being able to do every role in game development. I’ve never really had an interest for any
other industry than Digital Entertainment. Being able to make things for people
to enjoy is what I would proudly spend my life doing. I can also be pretty
competitive at times when it comes to class assignments. I will always try to
be the best that I can be. I know it’s pretty cliché to say that “I want to be
the best” cause everyone wants to be the best. I really just try to be better
than the person I was yesterday. The only person I’m competing with is myself.
I would love to work with people that have the same passion
for this industry as I do. I would also love to own my own animation and visual
effects studio. I want to tell stories and provide experiences that connect
with people. The meaning of life is whatever you want it to be. And mine is to
create. Creators Cast will reflect that sometime
in the future.
Apart from being in front of the computer all day and smashing
CRTL + Z. I like to spend my free time not just playing games, but trying to
understand how they were made. However, too much of anything can get really
boring after a while so going out and just enjoying life, appreciating nature,
or just taking a break from 3D can be
refreshing.
Last summer I went on a cruise and visited Cozumel Island
in Mexico for a few days. It was certainly an unforgettable experience. The
atmosphere there felt so different, but good, really good. That happened to be
my second time leaving the country. I plan on doing that quite often while I
still can. Earth is such a beautiful place and I wouldn’t want to miss out on
what’s out there to explore.
Other hobbies of mine would include editing videos, hanging
out with friends, and tricking. Tricking is basically a combination of flashy
martial arts tricks and breakdancing moves. Unfortunately, I haven’t been
training as hard as I used to since I’m always busy working in Maya, Zbrush or
UE4. It is pretty challenging trying to practice multiple arts at once. However,
even when I’m not training I tend to wear sweatpants. Like, all the time.
Regular jeans just can’t compete with joggers and I’m here to tell you that
joggers are future! “What a time to be
alive!”
If you’ve made it this far into my then I’m sorry to tell
you-- “It ends here”. Thank you for
taking the time to read about my life as a college student! Movies really did
trick me into thinking that college is where you get to party endlessly. “Maybe when I go for my Master’s at “USC
School of Cinematic Arts” I get to live that dream. I mean study and behave
like an adult.”
